Francis W. Test was a Chicago patent lawyer with a background in engineering who conducted legal work related to the Manhattan Project. This collection contains correspondence, memorabilia, and photographs related to Test's career and family life.

Biographical Note

Francis W. Test was a Chicago patent lawyer with a background in engineering, who worked on the Manhattan Project during World War II. Born in 1910, he died in 1951.

Scope Note

This collection contains correspondence, memorabilia, and photographs related to Test's career and family life. Material related to the Manhattan Project includes a certificate of Test's contribution, and a commemorative lapel pin. A variety of formal and informal photographs, most of which are unidentified, are also found. This collection also includes genealogical and biographical material about Test's extended family, as well as diplomas and other items of his wife, Ruth G. Riefling Test.
